My Secret Wedding - A story of elopement

Hello lovelies, I'm so delighted to bring you this amazing story of the most wonderful Sophie and Matt who eloped to Sydney in mid-October last year.  They were married, in the company of just two close friends, in complete secret, outdoors in the brilliant Australian Summer sun, by Sydney Harbour, opposite the Opera House.  Ah, the romance of it all!

Here are some of their DIY photos from their day ...

So far, so cool I hear you say.  But, the story doesn't end there, oh no!  Because I got together with my favourite romantic photographer, Jess Petrie and her lovely friend and ace hair and make artist, Jenn Edwards and we schemed a little scheme to put together some professional photos for Matt and Sophie.  They loved the idea of using them as Christmas presents to give to their friends and family, back here in Blighty. As Soph had sorted out her own hair and make up in Sydney, this time round would be a real treat.  And, although she loved her bouquet in Australia, it wasn't quite what she'd always imagined.  Enter the dreamweavers!

After talking to them both, we decided on the gorgeous heathery wilds of Derbyshire where Matt hails from, a place they both love and where they regularly go running and the setting for Jane Eyre, one of Soph's favourite books -  the source of the passage read at their wedding in Sydney.  Matt and Soph also loved the idea of the opposite climates - the wild and wintry Derbyshire after their sunny and stylish urban setting in Sydney.

Here's what we came up with ...

Aren't Matt & Sophie just gorgeous?  It was chilly, but I think the results speak for themselves. Rock My Wedding thought so, as we were all delighted when they featured the shoot on their blog recently!

If you'd like to know more about Soph's bouquet and why we chose the flowers we did - then do get in touch  and I'll tell all!

With thanks to Matt and Sophie and the wonderful Jess Petrie for her beautiful photography and the fabulous Jenn Edwards hair and make-up artist.
