2016 Round Up

Hi all,

I have talked a lot about how this is my favourite time of year and guess what?  I'm going to mention it again.  For me it just encourages me to look back on the year gone, what went well, what didn't and also think about what the year ahead may bring and plan for it too.  So with this in mind I am so happy to be writing this blog about just that.  We started the year with big plans and I have to say that we more than exceeded our expectations in what we thought we could achieve and what we actually achieved.  It's been such a ride from start to finish, our first full year with Light Space Collective, a summer of incredible weddings all over Yorkshire including some of the biggest weddings we have ever worked on and then to end the year we won the regional award for best wedding florist at The Wedding Industry Awards.

We have been part of so many incredible weddings this year, I have chosen a few to share with you just one more time before the year ends.  If yours isn't included please remember that we absolutely loved working with each and every one of you.  We pride ourselves on making a connection with all of our couples we work with, something that we will continue to do well in to next year and beyond!

We do mean it when we say we never make the same bouquet twice and this little selection of photographs goes to show just that.

Campbell's Christmas Wreath Making Workshop 2016

Hi all,

So last week we had our annual wreath making workshop held right here at Light Space Studio.  I love working at the workshops as the atmosphere is so fab and I usually end up picking up a few tips as I'm pottering around, making the tea and sweeping the tables.  However, the Christmas workshop is by far my favourite one of the year.  Being a massive Christmas fan I am really in my element with this one and what was even more brilliant about this year is that I got to take part in the workshop and make my very own wreath (did I mention I have the best boss in the world)?

Actually being in the workshop was such a great experience and I can see why people choose to come back time after time and take part in them with us.  It's not just about sitting and watching T then trying to make a replica of what she has just made but about learning the skills to go off and make your own design with the given materials.   Creativity is fully embraced and encouraged which means that no one design looks the same and you end up with something totally personal to you.  I absolutely love my door wreath and after a shaky start T managed to turn it around and give me the tips and encouragement I needed to create something pretty splendid.

Shelley of Shelley Richmond Photography took part in the workshop too and took some really cool photos of the evening which are just fantastic and really reflect what a great evening it was.  We will be announcing dates for our 2017 workshops in the new year so keep an eye on our social media and website.

Laura and Mike's Saltmarshe Hall Wedding - Fireworks, ferns and stunning staircases

Hi all,

Today I thought I would bring you something a little different and blog a wedding from just a couple of weeks ago and keep it current.  Being part of Light Space Collective we are in the presence of some pretty talented and brilliant photographers so we have picked up a couple of tips on how to take a decent photo (clearly not as good as the professionals but we are pretty proud of our efforts) so instead of waiting for the professionals I have popped a blog together using photos taken by our own fair hand.  So do let me know what you think?

Laura and Mike got married on Bonfire Night at Saltmarshe Hall.  Laura just loves those crisp Autumnal days and the outdoors which is why the couple chose this time of year. They chose to have lots of fireworks, sparklers and fire pits to toast marshmallows - sounds just wonderful!

The floral decorations were Laura's passion, she just loves interior design which is why we had the pleasure of decorating the gorgeous staircase, making it a real feature for the day, you can see the pics below along with all the other stunning venue designs.  As you can see the colour pallet was kept quite neutral, whites, blushes, creams and greens with plenty of foliage.

For her bouquet Laura wanted something very pretty, slightly cascading, meadowy and 'just picked' with soft trails and plenty of texture.  The flowers chosen were white anemone, steel berry, astilbe, roses, dahlia, white thistle and plenty of fern.

The bridesmaids had a similar design with a slightly more green and white colour pallet (the first bouquet in the photographs).  The buttonholes were a sprig design with quite a rustic feel.

Laura made her own cake which we added our own sprig designs too to compliment it.

So just scroll down and enjoy!

Jenni and Joe's Wedding at the Maynard, Grindleford - Pugs, pastels and blousy blooms.

Hi all,

Another wedding, another super cute, dapper doggy!  I'm pretty sure I've said it before but I am totally in love this idea of having your dog at your wedding.  It's happening more and more and it's so fantastic that these little members of your family can be part of your big day.

Jenni found us through Love My Dress Little Book for Brides which is something that we are super proud to be part of.  The couple got married last September at the picturesque Maynard at Grindleford.  We got to work on a really pretty floral curtain full of little sprigs of flowers which made an incredible back drop for the ceremony.  As you know, we totally love a creative challenge and so it's great when we get to work on something a little different, to really make the most of a venue.

For her bouquet Jenni wanted quite a round shape, with a little softness, and quite a muted pastel colour pallet.  The flowers T chose were 'Vendella' roses, pale blue hydrangea, blue delphiniums and eucalyptus.

As you will see from the piccies the bridesmaids had a similar design to the bride but slightly smaller. The buttonholes were a traditional focal style with a single rose.  The long and low design T put together for the ceremony table was stunning with long trails and just gorgeous seasonal flowers.

Thanks so much to fellow Lightspacer Ellie Grace for the incredible photography.  Just scroll down and enjoy!

Hat-Trick for Team Campbell's at TWIA Regionals - An honest insight into what this means to us.

Hi all,

I can't believe it's taken me a week to write this blog but it's just been an absolute whirlwind since we got back from the awards last Monday!  We are absolutely over the moon to have entered these awards 3 times and, to have won them three times.  The connection we have with our couples is so important to us and customer service is always at the forefront of our business (as it should be with every business if you ask me, no matter how big or small) and this really does have a huge impact on the outcome of the awards.  If it wasn't for you guys voting for us and continuing to support us after your weddings then we wouldn't be here celebrating like we are.

We took a year off the awards last year to concentrate on the business and look at what was working, what wasn't, and make a few changes like the brand new website and just how we performed as a business generally.  So, to come back this year was a massive deal for us as we weren't sure how we would be received and whether we had made the right decisions when it came to change.  As always we were whittling over nothing and needn't have worried!  Our faithful followers and gorgeous couples were behind us 100% and as cheesy as it sounds we genuinely can't thank you all enough.

Another reason why this years awards was so special to us was that we got to share it with our fellow Light Space Collective buddy and good friends at Team Jenn Edwards, who went on win 2 awards, one for hair and one for make up.  Plenty of celebratory champagne was drunk that night between us and I can tell you it was a classic case of work hard, play hard.

The Wedding Industry Awards have been fantastic for us as a business, not only as a confidence boost for us but also bringing us new clients and raising our profile so we can continue doing what we love. It only seems right that we say a massive thank you to Anna and Damian who run The Wedding Industry Awards, just keep doing what you're doing guys! Also a shout out too, to the esteemed panel of judges who made the final decision - we are beyond flattered.

The final thank you goes out to Queen T as without her this business would literally be nothing, she continues to work her absolute hardest to make sure all our couples get the best possible experience and the most incredible floral designs.  Thank you so much for letting me share this journey with you!

Danni and Ryan - You've got to be in it to win it!

Hi all,

It's so easy to turn your nose up at competitions and not even bother entering because you're thinking "It'll never be me!" or "no one ever wins these things!" Well, we are here to tell you that it could be you and someone does always win!  Our bride Danni won a competition to win her bridal bouquet which we ran at a wedding fayre and on our facebook page last year.

Danni wanted something simple and stylish with a neutral colour pallet to suit the rest of the theme of her wedding.  The end result was so pretty as you will see from the fab photographs.  Danni trusted T with her bouquet so much so that they never met, all their discussions were either over the phone or through email.  T was a little worried when she went to deliver Danni's prize on her special day as we always love the connection we have with our brides. She needn't have been, Danni absolutely loved her bouquet, so much so that she shed a few happy tears when she first saw it.

Also I would like to point out that the way T presents the bouquet to the bride is just brilliant, I think that all bridal bouquets should be presented this way if you ask me.

Lucy and Darren's Aston Hall Hotel Wedding - Just picked designs bringing the outdoors in.

Hi all,

As soon as these photographs hit my inbox I thought "Wow! The colours are amazing and they look like they have been plucked right out the garden.", I then go to look at the brief and Queen T has done it again as that's exactly what the bride asked for!

Lucy and Darren got married in August this year at Aston Hall.  The couple wanted a calm, relaxed and informal day which sounds lovely.  Lucy loves flowers and gardens which reflects so beautifully in T's designs.

For the brides bouquet seasonality and a 'just picked' look was key.  The flowers chosen were roses, tanacetum, craspedia, lisianthus, green bell, veronica, spray roses and scabious seed pods.  Long trails were left on the bouquet to really drive home that natural look.

Bridesmaids had similar to the bride but slightly smaller and more compact.  Buttonholes were a sprig design with the same coral colour pallet which stood out beautifully against the suits.

Now I think its's only fair that scooby gets a special mention as he had his very own buttonhole which sat nicely on his collar.  My dog Minnie is very much part of my family and also attended my wedding so it fill be with joy to see that other couples have the same feelings towards their own four legged friends!

Massive thanks to John Williams Photography for sharing these photographs with us.  So scroll down and enjoy but make sure you keep a special eye out for scooby!

Gemma and Gary's Halifax Hall Wedding - Big hugs for a gorgeous lady

Hi all,

From the moment that we met Gemma we were so excited to work with her, she is so happy, enthusiastic and generally just lovely but as the day drew nearer there was a little ounce of dread as we knew it was the end of our working relationship.  Gemma was such a pleasure to have around and deal with that we kind of miss her.

We first met Gemma when she won one of T's bouquets on a like and share competition and it couldn't have worked out better as she had just got engaged, it's like it was meant to be.  Gemma and Gary got married in August at the beautiful St Marie's Church then moved onto Halifax Hall for the reception.

The couple wanted a vintage feel to the day (one of the reasons why Gemma was drawn to us) which reflected in the 50's style bridesmaids dresses.  The colour pallet for the bouquet was very soft, made up mostly of champagne colours and pale blush pink.  Gemma wanted a classic round design for her bouquet with a little softness, so it wasn't too compact.  The flowers chosen were David Austin roses, dahlias, apricot lisianthus, astilbe, campanula, 'creme garcia' spray roses, 'Vendella' roses, sweet avalanche roses, quicksand roses and white hydrangea.  Gemma specifically asked for Rosemary for remembrance which we thankfully managed to source.

The bridesmaids had a similar style bouquet to Gemma just slightly smaller with more of a muted colour pallet.  Buttonholes were a simple focal style with a special little one for their super cute page boy Fin.

Massive thanks to Sarah at Key Reflections Photography for the amazing images.  Enjoy!

Nathalia and Callum's Whirlowbrook Hall Wedding - Floral texture and familiar faces

Hi all,

I love Sheffield for many reasons and the fact that everyone knows everyone is one of them.  When Nathalia came to the studio to drop off her containers I thought to myself "I know that face!" and it turns out that we go to the same gym and have even worked out together, small world eh?  With doing a lot of the admin and behind the scenes stuff here at Campbell's I am familiar with names but don't usually get to put a face to them until the photographs from the wedding arrive so it was a rare treat to meet the bride before her big day and even better that we kind of knew each other!

Nathalia and Callum got married this July in St Mary's Cathedral right in the heart of the city centre but also a stones throw from the studio, the couple then went on to Whirlow Brook Hall for the reception.

For her bouquet Nathalia wanted to keep the colour pallet quite neutral with plenty of creams and whites but she absolutely loves texture.  T designed a very full cascading bouquet with a good mix of small and large blooms to give the bride that texture she was after.  The blooms chosen were green hydrangea, rosemary, viburnum opulus, ammi, scabious seed pods, white peonies, white thistle, white astrantia, grey brunia, white wax flower, roses and mint.

Bridesmaids had a posy design with flowers similar to the brides and the super cute flower girl (see pictures below) had a pretty little head dress and mini bouquet.  Buttonholes were a sprig designs with extra detail on the groom's to make it stand out.

Nathalia's sister is starting her own wedding styling business which was great as she could provide must of the gorgeous containers and decorations used.

Massive thanks to Sarah at Key Reflections for the amazing images, so scroll down and enjoy!

Fabulous Four Legged Friends - The official Rain Rescue 2017 calendar photoshoot

Hi all,

So it's not all about the weddings here at Campbell's HQ, as we love to get stuck into creative projects too.  We got super excited when we were asked to get involved in the latest calendar for the Rain Rescue dog charity by fellow Lightspacer Shelley Richmond Photography.  Shelley did all the photography for the calendar but these fab behind the scenes shots were taken by Danni Maytree.  T got to make some really cute doggy flower crowns and corsages.  Here are a few behind the scenes shots and the official 2017 calendar is now available by following this link with proceeds going to the charity.  Also you can learn more about Rain Rescue and what they do by checking out the website.

Unveiled Magazine - Big Love, Bursting Blossoms

Hi all,

We are chuffed to bits that yet again we find our work on the glossy pages of a wedding magazine.  There is something quite special about seeing one of T's designs in print with our little company name at the bottom!

This time we are in Unveiled Magazine which we always like to have flick through.  Amelia's bouquet pops up in a feature about the large bouquet trend which we blogged about a month ago (we do like to stay ahead of the times).  If you would like to read more about this trend and how you can apply it to your wedding then just follow this link to read more.

Joanna and Dave's Chatsworth House Wedding - Classic style with a grand backdrop

Hi all,

Today we are bringing you a wedding from August this year.  Joanna was actually referred to us by her lovely sister Philippa who got married at Heathy Lea not long after we first started Campbell's. Referrals are absolutely fantastic and such an honour, as it really shows us how happy brides were with their flowers. Anyway, back to Joanna and Dave! The couple chose to get married at the rather grand Chatsworth House and as you will see from the photographs it did make quite the backdrop.

The general theme for the flowers was bringing the outdoors in.  Joanna wanted quite a natural, pretty look without it being too meadowy.  For the bridal bouquet T created quite a classic, romantic round hand tied which was quite compact with a little softness.  The flowers chosen were dahlia, 'Vendella' roses, cream lisianthus, green lisianthus, pink wax flower, astilbe and silver foliage.

Bridesmaids had something very similar but slightly smaller and slightly more colourful. with the addition of pretty pastel blue colours.  Buttonholes were a focal style with a little wax flower to finish off.

Massive thanks to Jon from S6 Photography for the photographs they are totally amazing!  So here they are guys, enjoy!

Claire and Mark's Sheffield Botanical Gardens and Roco Wedding - Rainy days, happy faces and soft, seasonal flowers.

Hi all,

Like so many of our couples choose to do, Claire and Mark actually got officially married on Friday, the day before their 'wedding' day.  The day after, they chose a humanist ceremony with all their friends and family which is where we stepped in to design the flowers.  The couple met at the Botanical Gardens for gorgeous 'first look' photos and lovely shots with family (many of whom live far from Sheffield).  Then it was on to Roco for the humanist ceremony (intimately performed by a close friend) and reception.  Claire and Mark were so relaxed and as you can see, not even a spot of rain put them off having a great time.

In terms of flowers the couple wanted quite a neutral colour pallet with lots of seasonal flowers. Venue decorations were pretty potted lavender and silver succulents, along with shiny glass baubles hung from the cool, urban architecture, filled with white carnations for a touch of drama. For the brides bouquet Claire wanted something compact but with plenty of softness and texture.  The flowers chosen were scabious, lisianthus, white thistle, stocks, craspedia, daisies, lavender, waxflower, cornflowers, rosemary and eucalyptus.

Bridesmaids had a similar design to the bride but slightly smaller with less of the larger blooms. Buttonholes were the classic focal design.

Massive thanks to the talented Ellie Grace Photography for the images.  Enjoy!

Destination Weddings and Honeymoons Abroad - Editors Picks

Hi all,

So we were super excited to get an e-mail from DWHA (Destination Weddings and Honeymoons Abroad) Magazine asking us to submit images for bridesmaids' hair flowers as they'd like to feature some of our work. Obviously we had a quick dig through our archives and whizzed off a few shots to oblige.

Nestled on page 21 you will find our flowers in a fantastic up do, creating lots of texture and prettiness which was the work of the talented and very lovely Julia Jeckell.  Equally talented and lovely, is studio pal,  Ellie Grace Photography who took this gorgeous shot.

As a bit of an added bonus, our blooms also play a part a little later on in the magazine (page 143) in an editorial which features Light Space Collective colleague, Jenn Edwards, where our flowers have been used in 2 of the up do's.  Photographs taken by Shelley Richmond Photography.

You can pick up your copy from a news agents now, we got ours from trusty old WH Smiths!  Well worth a read as it's full of lovely inspiration.

Floral Trends and Inspiration - Oversized Bridal Bouquets

Hi all,

So recently we appeared on Boho Weddings blog as the resident expert talking all about floral inspiration and in particular over sized bridal bouquets.  If you would like to read the blog in full the just click on this link and pop over to Boho but I thought I would give you a quick round up of what T had to say on the subject and how you can adapt these trends to fit your wedding day.  Over to T:

Hi everyone,

Now it has to be said that everyone here at Team Campbell's is a huge fan of the wild and wonderful wedding bouquets.  Not only are they a fantastic statement piece, but they are incredibly versatile as they can be made in a variety of shapes and styles to totally work with your beautiful gown.  This fabulous trend is something that works well with our ethos here at Campbell's HQ of creating beautiful, natural designs which let the materials we are working with really shine.  We also just adore all the forms, colours and textures we incorporate into our large-scale bouquets and just love the chance to use fabulous foliage too to enhance the beautiful blooms

T x

So whether you are wanting pretty pastels, pops of colour or seasonal shades there is something for everyone's style and budget, just check out the images below if you don't believe us.  Enjoy!

Emma and Chris's Northorpe Hall Wedding - Natural sprigs and woodland charm.

Hi all,

Today we are bringing you a super Spring wedding from May this year.  Emma and Chris got married at the beautiful Northorpe Hall which provided a natural and relaxed atmosphere, within just stunning gardens, which is just what the couple were aiming for.

Emma had quite a specific request with regards to her bouquet, she suffers with hay fever so T couldn't use anything too scented.  Sometimes we have to take things other than aesthetics into account but as always it's never a problem.  Our lovely bride wanted a very natural, woodland feel to the day with plenty of twigs and branches.  For the brides bouquet T chose to use low pollinators like wheat, barley, succulents, dried lavender, twigs, bluebells, euphorbia, berries, thistles, sweet peas and viburnum opulus with many of the blooms being British grown.

The bridesmaids had a similar design to the brides but smaller.  The buttonholes were a sprig style design including a white thistle and wheat. We just love this pretty cool, but soft colour palette.

Alice and Mark's Thornbridge Hall Wedding - A traditional day with pretty little florals.

Hi all,

Alice and Mark got married July this year at Baslow Church then onto Thornbridge Hall for the reception.  They wanted quite a traditional feel to the wedding which is really reflected in the photographs, with pictures of the bride at home and a beautiful church ceremony.

For her bouquet Alice gave T the brief of a country garden look with a heathery, muted colour pallet. The flowers chosen were lavender, heather, white thistle, astilbe, lisianthus, roses (including my favourite 'Memory Lane'), 'Vendella', David Austin 'Patience' and spray roses.  My favourite little addition by far though was the pale pink chrysanthemum's, they are the ones that look like little pom pom's.

For the bridesmaids T designed a smaller bouquet similar to the brides but with an even more of a muted colour pallet so they stood out against the bridesmaids dresses.  Buttonholes were kept to a focal designs with a single 'Memory Lane' rose.

Again this wedding was made a little bit more special as we were working along side fellow Lightspacer Ellie Grace Photography.  Gorgeous pictures as always.

Ali and Jaime's Losehill House Wedding - Peonies, roses and floral curtains

Hi all,

Ali and Jaime got married in June at Losehill House on a gorgeous sunny day, nice enough that Jaime managed to get in a little bike ride before the ceremony. The couple wanted a relaxed feel to the day and by the look of things that's what they got.

Flowers were very important for Ali, so much so that she knew their wedding would have to take plae in June so that she could have a day filled with peonies -  as she has grown up around her mum's love of flowers.  So, as always, T rose to the challenge and came up with some stunning designs.  For her bouquet Ali wanted more flowers than foliage and a round quite compact design.  The flowers chosen were David Austin 'Kira' and 'Patience', white peonies, pale pink peonies, 'Vendella' roses, ranunculus, white spray roses, white stocks and anemones.

The bride and the bridesmaids had little roses in their hair.  For the bridesmaids bouquet Ali went for a similar design to hers, just slightly smaller.  Buttonholes were kept classic and simple with a focal design.

Now we get to the venue flowers, I must admit these are some of the most gorgeous venue flowers I have seen, absolutely stunning.  The pew ends were breath taking but not a patch on the floral curtain made using Peonies.  I just love it.

Ali and Jaime were such a pleasure to work with and the icing on the wedding cake was a brilliant thank you e-mail from the bride herself which we blogged a couple of weeks ago.  Just follow this link to read more.

Massive thanks to HBA Photography for the amazing photographs!

Amelia and Richard's Losehill House Wedding - Soft, romantic blooms and handsome hounds.

Hi all,

I can't tell you how over them moon I was when T came to me and told me that we were designing for a wedding and the bride was wearing 'the dress', so let me give you a bit of background.  Last year we did a photo shoot with some amazing industry professionals and one of the models was wearing this gorgeous dress by Sassi Holford called Marilyn from The White Room and I fell totally in love. The design, fit and style is right up my street so I was so excited when I heard that the lovely Amelia would be wearing it.

Amelia and Richard got married at Losehill House in June this year, a venue that we love to work at, such stunning views.

After chatting with Amelia it was clear to us that she wanted a very soft romantic (just like the dress) feel to the day and designs.  For the brides bouquet Amelia asked for an asymmetric design, quite messy with plenty of foliage.  The flowers T chose were David Austin 'Kiera', David Austin 'Darcy', raspberry protea, pale pink and pink astilbe, spray roses, scented stocks, 'Sarah Bernhardt' peony, small cerise roses, pale pink lisianthus, olive foliage, eucalyptus, heather and ferns.  Amelia also had matching hair flowers attached to the prettiest headband.

The couple had 2 bridesmaids one of which was a super cute flower girl.  For their bouquets they chose flowers similar to the brides bouquet but a little smaller more compact design.  The flower girls also had a stunning little flower crown.

Buttonholes were kept simple and classic.

The ceremony table design was just incredible, as you will see in the pictures.  T had such fun designing this show stopping arrangement with lots of wow factor!

Wootton Park Wedding - Rebecca's very kind words,

Hi all,

We are so lucky to work with some really lovely brides.  As readers of our blog will know, many of them are referred by friends of Campbell's, and we are so proud to be referred by the amazing guys at Unique Wedding Planning. Joy and Josh work tirelessly with couples to create all manner of different wedding days and because of this, we've been lucky enough to design a really wonderful range of gorgeousness this year.

Rebecca and Mervyn got married in June and just wanted to fill their day with flowers which was just music to our ears.  It seems that T's extremely hard work paid off when we received these kind words from the bride.  You guys really are worth the late nights, early morning and aching feet.  We love you!!

"Hi Tracey,

Hope that you managed to have a bit of a rest since doing our flowers!  A huge job, putting everything together.

We and our guest were absolutely bowled over by the floral displays.  They far exceeded my expectations of the brief and your initial design ideas which were fabulous in the first place.  Thank you so much for transforming our venue into a romantic, vintage styled indoor garden - and the bridal flowers were a perfect accessory to my hair and dresses.  I already have some pictures from our guest which feature your artistry, as a beautiful back drop to our day.

Our house and many other guests houses are now decorated with elements of the displays - which also scent our rooms.

Thanks again
Rebecca and Mervyn"

Below I have included some photographs of the venue that were taken by us but we should be getting some professional ones soon so watch this space.

Helen and James, Whitley Hall - Spring sprigs and sensational scents.

Hi all,

Today I am bringing you a super spring wedding from May this year.  Helen and James got married at Darfield Church then straight onto Whitley Hall which is becoming quite a familiar venue to us now, which we love.  Helen was actually brought to us by her sister Katy who's wedding we designed for last  year.  Katy was one of the bridesmaids too.  We just love it when we get recommended by other brides but it's even more special when we get to design for someone else within the family, so thanks ladies.

Helen wanted a wild rustic feel to the flowers with a 'just picked' vibe.  The colour pallet was blush, cream and pale pink with a touch of lilac.  T designed something which wasn't too compact with a touch of softness to it.  The flowers chosen were Yorkshire lavender (keeping it local), wheat, green bell, pink gypsophila, 'Jana' spray roses, cream double lisianthus, 'vendella' roses, 'Sweet Avalanche' roses, lilac limonium, rosemary, astrantis 'Roma', raspberry veronica and blue thistles. From these ingredients we were also able to provide hair flowers as seen in the pictures below.

The bridesmaids had a similar design to the brides but slightly smaller.  James wore a sprig design buttonhole with plenty of rosemary, lavender and wheat.  It smelt divine!

Massive thanks to Laura Calderwood for the fantastic photographs.

Kind words from a gorgeous bride!

Hi all,

So we have said it before and we will say it again, we do love our jobs.  However, during wedding season it can be bit of a hard slog full of early mornings and late nights, heavy lifting and running about, so when we get e-mails like the one below it makes us instantly forget our aching limbs and tired eyes.  Thank you so much for this Ali we are so happy that we helped make your day exactly what you imagined.  We will definitely keep doing what we are doing for a long time to come because you guys are so worth it!

"Tracey,

I can't quite put into words how to thank you for the flowers this weekend.  They were amazing, absolutely stunning, the bouquets were everything I imagined, the peonies were just gorgeous.

Hannah and Ben the photographers came back up to the room and I asked them what the flower curtain looked like, they said they'd been to this venue a few times now and they'd never seen it look as stunning as what it did.  As I walked in to walk down the aisle, they took my breath away, it was brilliant and we've had quite a few photo's taken around this........loved loved loved it.

The table flowers were amazing too - the whole place looked beatiful.

You were so right about the flowers for my hair, Amy actually ended up using a couple of the smaller roses you included for Gaels (bridesmaid hair, she had the small bud roses) as the single rose was a little big, so god knows what I'd have looked like with a Peony stuck to the side of my head!!  The flowers she put in were just perfect.

Again, can't thank you enough, just amazing flowers, amazing decorations, you guys are amazing.

Thank you Ali xx"

Here are a few snaps of the flowers from Ali and Jamie's wedding taken by our very own Queen T. We should hopefully be receiving professional photos soon so watch this space.

Thanks for reading
Amy xx

Kerri and Eoin, St Mary's Church and The Workstation - Aquatic Plants and The Great Barrier Reef

Hi all,

So when I think of this wedding all I can hear in my head is Sebastian the crab from The Little Mermaid singing 'Under the sea!'.  No, I am not going absolutely crazy, I will explain.  Kerri and Eoin who got married at St Matthews Church with the reception at The Workstation, are divers and asked that their flowers reflect their passion.  Kerri wanted her bouquet to look like underwater plants, such as sea anemones and corals which they had seen whilst diving the Great Barrier Reef.  I was so excited when I saw the brief that T was given and as always she didn't disappoint with the design.

For the general feel of the bouquet Kerri wanted a loose 'just picked' look.  Flower wise T did a brilliant job at achieving the underwater look that the couple wanted.  The flowers chosen were open pink wax flower, blue delphinium, craspedia, blue thistles, solidago, scabious seed pods, eucalyptus and green bell.

For the bridesmaids Kerri and Eoin chose to have smaller versions of the brides bouquet.  The buttonholes were a simple sprig design too, to tie in with the generally relaxed look and feel.

So here are the gorgeous pictures, enjoy people!

A big shout out has to go to our fellow Light Space Collective friend and uber creative photographer,  Ellie Grace Photography

Beth and Paul, The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell - Succulents and Spring Days

Hi all,

Today we are bringing you a real wedding from April this year which took place at The Rutland Hotel in Bakewell.  Beth and Paul wanted a low key, intimate wedding so this venue provided the perfect place for such a day.  The surroundings provided a great backdrop for the photographs too which you will see below.

Moving on to the bride's bouquet, the colour palette was pale, soft, muted nude tones with champagnes, creams and whites in a hand tied design with a little softness. As you'll see from the gorgeous shots, Beth wanted succulents in her bouquet and you can watch T chat about this trend on our YouTube Channel just click on this link.  Using Beth's brief, T decided to on 'Vendella' roses, senecio, brunia, tulips, hyacinths, ranunculus, lisianthus and Yorkshire lavender.

For the bridesmaids, Beth chose to have smaller versions of her own bouquet, T made sure she used the Yorkshire lavander in there to compliment the gorgeous dusky purple bridesmaids dresses.  Beth and Paul chose a classic focal design for the buttonholes.

The mantle piece flowers were a stunning addition to the venue with long and low designs reflecting with subtle colour pallet.

This wonderful email popped up in T's in box, which we just had to share ...

Dear Tracey,

Paul and I have just got back home and to reality after our honeymoon and wanted to send you a big thank you for such wonderful flowers on our wedding day in early April.

I can't describe how beautiful they were, they were just perfect.

We adored the colours, I know I tortured myself for months over not having a theme or specific colour scheme but the design and the flowers just bought everything together. You seem to have a wonderful way of knowing brides better than they know themselves! They bought that large room to life and made it look so elegant, everyone keeps mentioning how amazing they were!

I can't thank you enough. The flowers were the only thing I wanted from the day (apart from marrying Paul...mustn't forget that one!) and you just surpassed everything I could've imagined. Thank you for everything, you and your team are absolute gems.

I've attached a couple of pics from Tom Hodgson Photography with the flowers in (hopefully I have attached them right!).

Thank you so much, I can't say it enough!!

Beth & Paul Thompson

Isn't that just lovely?  I'm feeling all warm and toasty!

Black Swan White Swan

Hi all,

So we have said before and we will say it again, we feel so lucky to be part of Light Space Collective because it means we get to be involved in amazing, creative photoshoots like this.  T is a massive fan of the ballet so this was especially exciting for her, however, this is all new to me (I watched the film if that counts?) and I must say the shapes cast by the models and beauty of this shoot blew me away.

See for yourself......
